Students will learn how to collect insects in both terrestrial and aquatic habitats, they will take part in a Linnaean Game to test their knowledge of insects, they will complete an insect collection they get to keep, they will build a bug out of candy, learn to cook with insects, meet a scientist, dissect an insect, learn about insect communication by competing in a pheromone trail activity, compete in an insect mouthparts relay, play the insect game of life, work a live bee colony, and visit the Butterfly Rainforest. Not bad for a bug camp. Please register today to reserve your seat.
Registration Packet (a check made out to the University of Florida must accompany the registration packet.)
After we receive the camp forms and payment, the University of Florida will now require families to register their camper through an online system, https://florida.4honline.com. Once the payment for the camp is received, the camper name will be activated. Once activated, families will need to complete some online information for University of Florida Youth Conference Services compliance.
To register for camp, please complete these forms and mail or drop them off with a check made out to the University of Florida. The address is below.
You will receive a confirmation email when your packet is approved. The email will contain instructions on how to complete your camp registration online through 4-H Online. Since we are a camp, you will indicate as a "State Office" instead as part of a county program. The website for continuing your registration is https://florida.4honline.com, but you will be unable to complete registration until after you have received a message stating that your camper has been accepted and is active in the system.
