Research and Teaching Responsibilities
- Coordination of entomology and training/education for the SPDN.
- Networking with other regions in the National Plant Diagnostic Network
National Plant Diagnostic Network (NPDN) through the NPDN Operations Committee and the NPDN Training & Education
Subcommittee.
- Deliver SPDN/NPDN outreach or awareness talks at various local, regional, or national meetings, depending upon
the needs of the program.
- Develop and/or facilitate the development of training sessions for First Detectors groups including county extension
agents, crop consultants, growers, Master Gardeners, others involved in plant management, and the general public. See the

- Coordination and development of educational materials relating to exotic pests, particularly exotic insects of concern
at the regional and/or local level.
