Newly laid eggs of Bemisia are pale yellow while those about to hatch are dark brown. (Bemisia = sweetpotato whitefly B biotype, Bemisia tabaci (Gennadius), or silverleaf whitefly, Bemisia argentifolii Bellows & Perring).
