What is now the UF Entomology Club began in 2002 as the five member "Insect Collecting Society" led by inaugural president Lindsay Griffin. At the time, the entomology department consisted of only eighteen majors and minors with an average GPA of 2.37. In 2005, we became "The Entomology Club" and registered three years later as an official Student Government organization. Today, there are almost eighty entomology club members who come from a variety of majors campus wide. The department itself now boasts seventy-four majors and minors with an average GPA of 3.66.
The Entomology Club is regarded as one of the most active in the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences (CALS). Club members participate in an array of activities including school visits, CALS Connection, Parents' weekend, majors fairs, dorm visits and other activities associated with either CALS or UF.
