Do you have what it takes to become an ACE?

Are you a practicing pest management professional?

  • Do you have at least 7 years verifiable pest management experience?
  • Would you like to obtain a certification by exam from the Entomological Society of America (ESA) and become an Associate Certified Entomologist (ACE)?

If so, join us at the Florida ACE Prep Course in Apopka, FL on September 25-26th, 2014.

The prep course will offer training from Associate Certified Entomologists, Board Certified Entomologists, ESA members from the University of Florida, and from the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services. The Florida ACE Prep Course is a result of a request by the pest managemet industry to provide a review session to help test takers focus before taking the ACE exam. We have had participants from twelve states attend our Prep Course since 2009 and can boast that approximately 20% of all ACEs nationwide have attended our course. During the review, we will cover the following topics from the ACE Study Guide:

    Review Topics:

    • Arthropod Biology and Classification
    • IPM Tools and Practice
    • Wood Destroying Insects
    • Pest Flies
    • Pest Ants
    • Biting and Stinging Insects
    • Occasional Invaders
    • Stored Product Pests

The ACE Prep Course is a review session to help prepare you for the Associate Certified Entomologist (ACE) exam offered by the Entomological Society of America. The Prep Course should not replace you studying for the exam on your own. Please see the links below for the ESA ACE practice test and study materials. Please visit to find out more about the ACE program and the benefits it entails.

At the conclusion of the Prep Course, the participants will have the opportunity to take the online ACE exam with a Board Certified Entomologist (BCE) Proctor. Please indicate on your Florida Prep Course registration form if you will be able to provide a laptop computer for testing.

Note: The ACE exam is offered through ESA (Entomological Society of America) and costs $395. That fee must accompany your ACE application and be paid to ESA a minimum of 30 days prior to the exam date. Please do not send your ACE application or Fee to the University of Florida.
