ENY 2040 - The Insects is a three credit course that introduces students to insect biology, insect-organism interaction and insect association with man. It features discussion of basic biological principles using insects as examples. The Insects does count towards the general education biology requirement for UF students.

The Insects is a hybrid course that combines live lectures with online videos and reading assignments. The live lectures will include things like live arthropods (insects, millipedes, scorpions, and tartantulas), hands-on activities, and even insect quisine (Yes, you can eat a bug if you like.). The online portion of the class requires an online textbook (Faulkner Media - The Insects) You will not only learn about arthropods and their lives, but get a chance to take home an arthropod pet to observe! Take note that this is a hybrid class (live and online). Attending class sessions will get you rewards like bonus point opportunities and printed copies of review materials. The class schedule is available on the syllabus, so be sure to check it out. There are three exams for this class. The first is an online exam and the mid-term and final are in-class scantron exams. Please join us for a fun look at the Insects. Bring a friend! Afterall, there are more insects than any other animal on planet Earth.
